LinkedIn

Summary of LinkenIn: LinkedIn is a free online tool that teachers and students can use to connect with people they know professionally. You can connect with people whom you haven’t seen in a long time, search for teachers or students like yourself and learn about them and their experiences. You can go to LinkedIn to sign up for a free account here https://www.linkedin.com/. You can also upgrade your account for a fee, but the differences between the two aren’t much. LinkedIn is a site where you can connect with millions of people all around the world. You can connect with colleagues in a safe and fun environment. You can collaborate, consult, and interact with so many people. Over 50 million professionals use this network.

Pros and Cons of LinkenIn: One pro of LinkedIn is that it is free and user friendly. LinkedIn is always adding features and making it more and more user friendly too which is great. Another thing that is great about this tool is that there is an option that allows you to make your profile private so only people you know are able to see your profile. This makes it safer for students, which is awesome! Some cons of LinkedIn are that most people who have created account are not actively engaged in the site.

How LinkenIn can be used in the classroom: In my opinion LinkedIn is more for older students if you are using it in your classroom. I would say 5th grade and up, maybe even night school level. I see it as more beneficial for college students and adults that have graduated and are looking for a job.
